Copper part II

I feel the need to write something about Copper as well. If there was ever a dog that could be considered a gentleman, it would be Mr Pops. He was such a handsome, intelligent and well behaved dog. Although we only had him for a short time, he became incredibly integrated into our lives and daily routines. This morning I woke up thinking that I had to let out Copper for his early morning jaunt outside in the yard (he loved rolling around in the snow in the winter and in the grass in the summer).

I've created a gallery of pictures of the pops from when he first arrived in June until his last day

And here are some pictures that Gody took of Copper when he visiting them in Mitchell this past fall

copper

it is with heavy heart that 384 Wardlaw says goodbye to mr. pops.
he went to sleep gently with help from our excellent vet Lana.
I attended his last moments, it was quiet and peaceful.

he had a good stay with us and he will be missed terribly.

Addendum
The picture that Dave posted of Mr Pops and "the girls" was on his last day. The cats knew something was up. They stayed close to him for a considerable time and gave him kisses (nose to nose touches). The other picture is from an earlier time during pop's many walks in the neighbourhood.

prenatal class

This past Tuesday marked the end of our prenatal class that we took through Birthroots. Dave asked the moms-to-be to pose for a picture. We will be having a reunion of the couples with their babies in May, so Dave wanted to have a before and after shot. As you can see I do not have the biggest belly but honestly I thought that I did, until I saw the picture. The instructor, Becky, is to the left of me.
Last weekend we swung my work colleague Tony's home to pick up a stroller he and his wife set aside for us. Tony posted a note of caution along his walkway!
The last picture is of Copper and Hibou enjoying a warm winter day on the porch.

pregnancy update

I am now 33 weeks pregnant (35 if you believe the earlier due date, which I don't).
I have been very fortunate as I have had a very healthy pregnancy thus far. Fingers crossed that this continues as I enter into the final weeks!

I predict I will go through a psychological shift when the calendar month moves from January to February (which is tomorrow). Choochoo's arrival is weeks away! I hope baby will be kind and choose to make the big arrival in March and not in February. I need time to make the shift away from work and Dave needs the time to complete the nursery!

I've resumed with prenatal yoga classes in January and Dave and I started prenatal classes with Birthroots. Des attended the first class with me because Dave had a poetry performance. We attended the second class together and Dave had to attend the third class solo. The instructor was most impressed! Dave has been a very active participant in the class.

Our labour support team is in place: our midwife Janet and our doula Noelle. Dave is very keen on preparing the ultimate labour kit, packing the most essential items to make the labour experience the best possible for both of us.

Dave has been playing musical instruments for Choochoo nightly and he has been rewarded for his efforts by some hardy movements and kicks from baby.

Full House

Last weekend we had several guests over at the 384 Wardlaw abode. We picked up the "teens" Breanna and Jordan on New Years Day and they stayed over for two nights. Gody, Naomi and Emma joined us for the second night.

Emma quickly warmed up to the teens. The weekend highlights included big breakfasts and an assortment of activities (playing table tennis and old school video games, watching hockey and movies). The teens also found time to take photos of themselves using the photobooth application on the Mac.

Gody removed a significant bottle neck in our laundry list of renovations by installing a light in what will soon be our walk in clothes closet off of the master bedroom.

Desiree stayed over a couple of days later before she returned home to Ottawa and to the waiting Emile.
